Our target for 2007 is to set up, organize and certify a number of farmers for production of organic Robusta Coffee, Bird Eye Chili and Sesame Seeds.

 

Farmers’ awareness and level of receptiveness towards the Organic concept is amazing, and not only for economic reasons.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Even though we pay the premium for our produce and farmers are largely encouraged by extra income, there is a common awareness that artificial fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides are damaging in the long run.

 

This awareness makes our task easier and our bonds with farmers stronger, as we are working together towards developing communities and preserving the environment.

Uganda lies on the shores of Lake Victoria, between the vast jungles of the Democratic Republic of Congo and plains and savannahs of Kenya and Tanzania. Most of the country is at a considerable height above sea level (1,300m for Kampala) thus enjoying a wonderful climate with springtime temperatures all year round. Tropical rainfall arrives in two major seasons, enabling the production of two harvests per year:

July/August and December/January.

Uganda is home to a vast variety of flora and fauna and vanilla has certainly found it's permanent home here.
